TWENTY/12 is here and we couldn’t be happier. Started way back in early November of 2011, friend and colleague John Edmonds came to us with a wonderful idea, Why not photograph the first day of the year? Influenced from the book series, One Day Ten Photographers, Edmonds wanted to compile a group of twelve young and international photographers to take on the first day of the year to capture a visual documentation of the beginning of the end that is 2012. With this in mind the photographers went out to document their lives on January 1, 2012, not knowing what to expect.
TWENTY/12 is the product of all this hard work. Featuring images from the rural mundane that is northern Minnesota to the warm golden light that can only be seen in Cuba, the book provides an intimate perspective into twelve individuals as the new year begins. This is Empty Stretch’s first official endeavor into the publishing world and we hope you love it as much as we do. We’d also like to give a special thanks to those who supported our kickstarter to help get this off the ground, we couldn’t have done it without you.
